The Folk Art Quilt Throw is designed to feature folk art icons and colors. Each square is quilted individually in the typical rag style construction. Included are fabric suggestions for the color options shown here and a full color layout grid. The pattern includes fabric requirements and instructions for queen, full, or twin size.
The images here show the quilt done in some traditional folk art colors. This design could also be beautiful in any number of homespun fabric/color combinations. The star applique could easily be substituted with a flower shape to make it appropriate for fresh spring like colors as well. Of course, homespun fabric is required to get the fluffy fray of all the ragged edges.
Although this pattern only utilizes basic rag quilt techniques, the intricate layout and multiple square designs make this pattern a medium level difficulty and not recommended for a first time project. Included in this pattern is a materials list, fabric suggestions, detailed instructions, a layout grid and, of course, lots of pictures to guide and encourage you. Enjoy!
